Apply the pixel size to a canvas or design file so the result fills the page exactly.
About page size converter
Page size converter shows the real dimensions of standard paper and screen formats, in millimetres, inches and the pixel count needed to print them cleanly. Use it before designing anything that has to fit a specific page, or when a form states a size in one unit and you need to work in another.
The unit confusion is the usual reason people get this wrong. A4 is 210 by 297 millimetres, which is 8.27 by 11.69 inches, which at 300 DPI is 2480 by 3508 pixels. Any one of those numbers is correct, and mixing them up is how an image ends up 4 percent too large for a page it was meant to fill exactly.
The pixel figures are the practical part. A full A4 page at 300 DPI is 2480 by 3508 pixels, and a 96 DPI web image of the same page is only 794 by 1123, which is why a design that looks right on a screen prints soft. Knowing the target pixel count in advance is what stops that happening, and it is also the figure you need when a print shop asks for a file at a given resolution.
Frequently asked questions
What are the exact A4 dimensions?
210 x 297 mm, or 8.27 x 11.69 inches, or 4961 x 7016 pixels at 600 DPI. At 300 DPI it is 2480 x 3508 pixels, and at 96 DPI it is 794 x 1123.
Why does my printed image look blurry?
Almost always because the image does not have enough pixels for the physical size at the resolution being printed. Check the pixel count this page gives you and compare it to what your image actually has.
Is A4 the same as US Letter?
No, and the difference is large enough to matter. A4 is 210 x 297 mm while Letter is 216 x 279 mm, so A4 is narrower but taller. Using the wrong one can push content off the printable area.
What DPI do I need for printing?
300 DPI for anything viewed at normal distance, which covers nearly all documents and photographs. 150 DPI is acceptable for a draft or a large print seen from a distance, and 600 DPI only for small formats examined closely.
Can I use this to size an image for a document?
Yes, enter the page format and DPI, then resize your image to the pixel count shown. The resize in cm tool will do that conversion for you directly.
Is this tool online only?
It needs no processing at all, since these are fixed published dimensions. Everything is calculated from standards and displayed instantly.
