About bulk image resizer
Bulk image resizer sets a whole folder of pictures to the same size in one pass, then hands them back as a ZIP. It is the tool for preparing a product catalogue, a gallery or a set of listing photos where every image needs to be consistent.
Two behaviours are offered, and the difference is important. Fitting scales each image down until it fits inside your maximum dimensions, so a tall image and a wide image end up different sizes. Cropping to fill scales until the frame is completely covered and then trims the overflow, so every output is exactly your stated size. Fitting preserves all of the picture; cropping gives a consistent grid and loses the edges.
The option to skip images that are already small enough matters more than it sounds. Without it, a batch of mixed-resolution photos gets every small image enlarged, which wastes space and can soften it. With it, only the oversized files are touched, and you keep exactly what you started with wherever nothing needed doing.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use fit or crop?
Fit if you must not lose any part of the picture, which is normally right for documents and product shots. Crop if you need every output to be exactly the same size, which is right for galleries and social feeds.
Will it enlarge images that are already small?
Not by default. The skip option leaves anything already within the target untouched, since enlarging would only waste file size and soften the picture.
Does resizing a folder change the filenames?
No. Each file keeps its original name, so any existing structure of filenames still makes sense afterwards.
What happens to images with different aspect ratios?
With fit, each is scaled to fit inside the frame, so a portrait and a landscape will come out different sizes. With crop, both fill the frame exactly and the overflow is trimmed.
Can I resize a large folder?
There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded. The practical ceiling is your device memory, since each image is decoded in turn. A few hundred images works on most machines.
Does resizing reduce file size?
For JPEGs, usually substantially, because there are fewer pixels. For PNGs the change is unpredictable, so use the batch compressor afterwards if size is the goal.
